Prescription policy
How prescription-only veterinary medicines are supplied, reviewed and approved.
Last updated 14 September 2026
Certain veterinary medicines can only be supplied against a valid prescription issued by a veterinarian registered to practise in Pakistan. On this site those products are marked Rx.
What counts as a valid prescription
- Issued by a registered veterinarian, naming them and their registration number
- Identifies the animal or group of animals it was written for
- Names the product, strength, dose and duration of treatment
- Is dated, and is not more than six months old
How the process works
- Add the Rx product to your basket as normal.
- Upload a photograph or scan of the prescription at checkout, or from your account beforehand.
- Our pharmacist reviews it. This usually takes a few working hours during opening times.
- If it is approved, your order is confirmed and dispatched. An approved prescription stays valid on your account for six months, so repeat purchases of the same product do not need a fresh upload.
- If it cannot be accepted, we contact you with the reason and cancel the order. Nothing is charged, because payment is on delivery.
Why we may reject a prescription
The image is unreadable; the prescription is expired; the product or dose does not match what was prescribed; the prescriber's registration cannot be verified; or the quantity ordered substantially exceeds the course prescribed.
What we will not do
We do not supply prescription-only medicines without a prescription, whatever the circumstances. We do not backdate, amend or reissue prescriptions. If you do not have one, book a consultation with one of our veterinarians.
Withdrawal periods
Where a medicine has a withdrawal period for meat, milk or eggs, it is shown on the product page and printed on the dispensing label. Observing it is a legal and food-safety obligation. If you are unsure, ask before you treat, not after.
